The ProTeam HEPA Vacuum is one of the better HEPA vacuums on the market today.
I know because I bought one for my home and I have to say, it’s money well spent.
This vacuum is versatile and easy to use and allows you to tackle any job with ease. It boasts an ergonomic design and fits easily on your back.
The vacuum also has an ultra-fine filter system that traps allergens and particles as small as 0.3 microns in size, making your home cleaner than ever before.
Benefits of Backpack Vacuums
If you are among the millions of Americans that have chronic back pain, a backpack type vacuum is a beneficial tool.
Moreover, these devices eliminates the need to bend over constantly. Especially for individuals with larger homes that have stairs.
These types of vacuums can be placed you your back and the straps are adjustable so almost anyone can wear it. It feels like wearing a backpack and is very comfortable when standing and walking around to vacuum.
The straps are articulating and there is also a belt like strap so the unit fits snug.
This means no more pulling a heavy vacuum all over the place when vacuuming. In addition to easy to carry, backpack vacuums save you time and they can be used in many different environments safely.
Whether vacuuming the carpet of hardwood in your home, or cleaning an office and maneuvering around desks and chairs, these units add value to any cleaning process.
Key Features of ProTeam Backpack Vacuum
I selected this vacuum because it has many benefits when used at home or in a commercial building by professional cleaners.
Some of the key features of this unit are:
- The ProTeam vacuum has four levels of filtration one of which is a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter. If you are not familiar with HEPA filtration, let’s just say that his is one of the biggest benefits of this unit. HEPA filtration removes tiny particles from the air and traps them in the filter. Airborne particles like mites, mold spores, animal dander, pollen, bacteria, and other nuisance dust. The HEPA filtration is a good feature to look for especially for people with allergies
- It is equipped (comes with) a 50-extension cord so you don’t need to worry about running out of battery power in the middle of vacuuming
- The unit is light weight, unlike traditional roll on the floor vacuum cleaners.
- The suction power of the unit is the best I have used and more powerful than most vacuum cleaners.
- Noise level of the unit is low and not as loud as some other vacuums I have used in the past.
- This model comes with a brush and crevice attachment to get into those hard to reach areas of your home.
- It transitions well from different floor surfaces without losing suction power.
Amazing Capacity
Overall the capacity of the ProTeam Backpack vacuum is more than sufficient for any use.
We have two units used in a commercial mold remediation business and I use one in my home as well. At home, I can used the vacuum for weeks or months without the cannister getting full to capacity.
The vacuum has a 10 quart filter which ais about 3 times more capacity than the average upright vacuum. That means you don’t need to change the filter bags as often.
Light Weight
The weight of the vacuum cleaner itself is about 10 pounds. For the average person that’s not much weight to carry on your back. To me it is lightweight and easy to put on my back and take off.
To put this weight into perspective, for the average teenager going to school, their backpack weighs about on average from 12 to 20 pounds.
So that’s considerably more that the weight of the ProTeam Backpack vacuum
Noise level
One of the big concerns individuals usually have with a vacuum cleaner is how loud it is.
With this particular vacuum cleaner, it makes the same amount of noise as a regular upright vacuum. for such a powerful vacuum cleaner you would think that the noise level would be higher.
The below video shows for decibel readings taken before the vacuum was turned on and when the unit was turned on and running.
Before the vacuum was turned on, the noise level was about 47dB on average. As you can see, the decibels (dB or noise level) jumped up to around 70 on average when the unit was running. This is the same noise level you are exposed to when driving 60 mph in your car. So, the noise level is about average for a vacuum cleaner.
The Accessories
The standard package comes with the wand and four attachments.
The attachments needed are mainly based on how you plan to use the vacuum. If you plan to do detail cleaning around the house, you would need head attachment, crevice tool and the brush attachment for upholstry, blinds and areas like that.
For commercial use or mold remediation activities, you may need the commercial set with additional attachments.
What I like about the ProTeam Backpack HEPA Vacuum
As far as vacuum cleaners go, I would say that this is one of the better ones I’ve purchased.
I have purchased many cleaners, and this is the one I use the most at home and for my mold restoration company.
I can place the unit on my back, secure the strap and go to work vacuuming as long as I need to without changing filters or running out of battery.
Also, the wand is very light, and you don’t need to change the vacuum heads when switching between high or low pile carpets and hard flooring such as vinyl or hardwood.
Another thing I like about the Proteam SUPER quartervac is that fact that it captures dust particles, mold spores(1), bacteria, and other airborne particles in its 4 stage filter system- HEPA filter.
That means that you don’t have to worry about the vacuum sucking up and spreading mold spores and other particles in your home that could trigger allergies.
This unit has amazing suction power and is a must have for people with pets, commercial cleaners and others.
What could be improved
Like any product on the market today, there can always be improvements.
This vacuum cleaner is no exception. One of the things I think can be improved upon is the power supply cord and where it hooks up on the vacuum itself.
The power cord coming from the unit is too short, therefore, you have to plug in the extension cord, hook it into the cord holder, then put the backpack on.
A better solution would be to have the cord coming from the vacuum a little longer so you can put the backpack on, then plug in the extension cord while you have the unit on instead of having to plug everything up then put it on after towards
Another improvement that would be a having a cradle or a rack of some kind to store the attachments on a wall.
If you have pets, own a cleaning business, operate a mold remediation company, or just want to make sure you have one of the best vacuum cleaners, I would highly recommend the ProTeam Commercial Backpack Vacuum.
